Movie Review Monday #2: Alien vs Hunter

Posted on Tuesday 22 July 2008 - 01:47:23  by Jim
Ooops, it's a many hours late but here it is. I'll use the real movie night (we watched "Silent Hill", boobie nurses!) as the excuse. Without further ado about nothing I give you Asylum's epic: Alien Versus Hunter!!

The DoP Style 3

Here's the flash version, 320x240 / 1200kbps / 125mb. Still experimenting with flash encoding but it's late, I'm tired, so this is it. :-)

No video today.

Ulead Video Studio sucks. Everyone who's edited video knows this. Still I had a free version so I used it for a while just for giggles. And for a *while* it was usable. But now it's bugs have gotten past a tolerable level and it's time to move on. So I've got the demo version of Vegas Platinum 8 and I'll give that a whirl. Of course now I have to get used to yet another program (it was Adobe Premier before UVS) and another work flow. Yippee.

On top of that it was a real bitch uploading the new DoP doom2 frag movie. It just refused to complete. I think it's all good now though. Argh.

The good news: I finally got off my ass and got a haircut. Ahhhhhh.

Movie Review Monday #01

Posted on Monday 14 July 2008 - 18:32:15  by Jim
This will be the start of Movie Review Mondays. Every week will start off with a look at a (usually terrible) horror movie. Why? Because I love horror. Horror movies, horror novels, horror short stories, pretty much anything. And occasionally the only thing better than a really good scary movie is a really terrible one. Which brings us to the Asylum release "Bram Stokers Dracula's Curse", the greatest terrible movie I've ever seen. Ever.

The Sunday Heh

Just read this on TigerDirect.ca while looking for a Serial ATA controller:

REVIEW BY: Reviewed Mar 20, 2008
So heres teh verdict: I was suprised to find that there WERE instructions and they were reletively easy to follow. I was worried that this would be a pain to install, but dispite a few spelling errors the instructions are easy to interpert with a little common sense. If you have XP, you have to install via floppy anyways since XP does not support RAID drivers via a CD-Rom. Also it comes with two SATA 18'' cables, great qulaity, I'm impressed and very happy. Will buy more in the future

Spelling errors in the manual? What a bunch of maroons!
